What’s the difference between lava and magma?
Magma is molten (liquid) rock underground, and lava is molten rock above ground.
For example, the stuff that comes out of volcanoes is called lava, since it is above the ground, whereas it is called magma when it is still inside the volcano.
I’ve watched several Minecraft let’s play series on YouTube, and one of the biggest mistakes that many youtubers make is believing that lava is magma, or the other way around. The more you know!
